Optometry Giving Sight
Did you know that uncorrected refractive error (the need for an eye exam and a pair of glasses) is the leading form of preventable blindness worldwide?
An estimated 250 million people around the world are blind or visually impaired simply because they do not have access to an eye examination and a pair of glasses.

Why is there this problem? In many developing countries, there are not enough trained eye care personnel, and there is no infrastructure to support these desperately needed eye care services.
Optometry Giving Sight, an international organization, funds the solution to this problem. OGS supports programs that offer immediate access to services and that establish the infrastructure and human resources required for sustainable, quality vision care.
Dr. Zaum and Pacific Eye Care Optometry support this very worthy organization with monthly contributions. We supplement these contributions with voluntary patient donations that we request when we do minor repairs on glasses, like changing nosepads or replacing lost screws.
